Karnataka reveals the roots of India shaped by sanctuaries of living traditions, sacred rituals and enduring craftsmanship. In this cycling adventure we will take you beyond the landmarks into the temples, farming villages, coffee growing highlands, and historic kingdoms offering a rare glimpse into daily life that continues much as it has for generations. Along the route, ancient shrines remain active places of worship, colourful markets preserve age-old trading customs, and local communities maintain traditions deeply woven into their identity. Every region in this journey reveals a distinct chapter of India’s story. Combined with hospitality, regional cuisine, wildlife, and amazing landscapes, this journey offers an immersive understanding of Karnataka’s cultural soul.

Itinerary

DAY 1 Arrive at Bangaluru

Arrive late night or early in the morning in Bangaluru where you will be welcomed by our representatives and checked into a hotel near the airport as you will have a short flight to board the next day. Make sure to be well rested for the next day.

We will take a short flight to Hubballi and upon arriving there we will drive through the rural landscapes of Northern Karnataka toward the historic temple village of Aihole. Often referred to as the “cradle of Indian temple architecture,” there are over 100 early temples built by the Chalukya dynasty.
Aihole and Pattadakal, form a beautiful heritage circuit of 45 km ideal for cycling enthusiasts. Riding between these ancient temple towns lets you enjoy quiet rural roads, dramatic sandstone landscapes, and a journey through Chalukyan history.
We will cycle a short distance to the historic town of Badami, dramatically set between towering red sandstone cliffs. We will ride around the sandstone landscape and lakeside temples of Badami with occasional gentle climbs.
After breakfast, we will go south to the legendary ruins of Hampi. Once the capital of the mighty Vijayanagara Empire, Hampi was one of the richest cities in the world during the 14th–16th centuries. Our ride will include easy monument-to-monument riding across the ruins of Hampi. Mostly flat terrain with frequent cultural stops.
Once you’ve had your breakfast we will go on a scenic canal-side ride through banana plantations, rice paddies, and quiet villages around Hampi. This region is mostly flat. After a day of exploring, you can have a restful night in Hampi.
This would be your rest day from cycling, and we will travel to the highlands of Chikmagalur, located in the Western Ghats. This place is the major hub of coffee cultivation in India (birthplace of coffee). The remainder of the day is free to relax at your resort surrounded by plantations and forested hills.
We will continue exploring coffee plantations, spice gardens, and misty hills, riding your cycle. Our ride will take us through coffee estates, small mountain villages and scenic viewpoints across the Western Ghats.
After you’ve had a hearty breakfast, we will travel to the hill station of Madikeri in the Coorg region. It offers some of the most beautiful countryside areas in South India. In the afternoon enjoy a relaxed ride through plantations and forest roads around Madikeri.

Spend the day exploring the scenic hill town of Madikeri and its surrounding countryside by electric bike. Ride through winding plantation roads lined with coffee, pepper, and cardamom estates, passing misty hills and forested valleys.

The rolling terrain offers gentle climbs and rewarding descents, easily managed with e-bike assistance.

After breakfast we will head to the historic royal city of Mysore. When we reach there the rest of your day will be at leisure. Make sure to get enough rest for the following day.
This day is marked to explore the famous elegant architecture, vibrant markets, and royal heritage while riding around the Mysore city. We will visit the magnificent Mysore Palace, Devaraja Market and Chamundi Hill viewpoints.
Exploring the rural landscapes and the small villages of Mysore, we will ride toward the wildlife-rich region of Kabini. It lies on the edge of the famous Nagarhole National Park, one of India’s best areas for spotting elephants, deer, and birdlife.
Once you had a hearty breakfast, this day will be dedicated to exploring the wildlife of Kabini. In the morning and afternoon, we will go on a wildlife safari, go birdwatching along the river and boat safari on the Kabini river.
After breakfast we will depart from Kabini and drive back to Bangalore. Upon reaching there you will be transferred to your onward journey. With this your memorable journey across Karnataka comes to an end.
